The flu vaccination reduces the risk of flu illness by between 40% and 60% among the overall population during season. It is important to protect our families.
CHWCMR developed a multicultural media outreach campaign with a target of reaching over half a million people to increase their knowledge about the importance of getting flu (and COVID-19) vaccination, as well as implementing preventive measures such as social distancing, hand washing, and using face masks. A key part of the campaign was a series of CHW-led workshops focused on the importance of getting the influenza vaccine, using information and recommendations from WA DOH, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This multimedia campaign has three 1) Educational advertisements for social media and community activities & Workshops; 2) Face-to-face advertisement, and 3) Radio and Advertisement Dissemination. https://www.chwcoalition.org/projects/influenza-program
